Glossary
The words Ovyrena uses, in one place.
- Owner
- A user who owns one or more Companies and has full control of them.
- Company
- Your business account. Locations, Resources, Offerings, Employees and Bookings all belong to a Company.
- Location
- A place inside a Company, such as a restaurant, a building or a branch. Every Company has at least one.
- Resource
- Anything you book or occupy: a room, apartment, table, chair or piece of equipment. A Resource has no price of its own.
- Resource type
- The kind of Resource, such as Table or Room. Your business type decides which types are suggested first.
- Layout
- A map of Resources at one Location, used during a shift. Resources on no Layout are Unplaced.
- Booking
- The use of one Resource from a start date and time to an optional end.
- Walk-in
- A Booking without a Customer, created from the Layout.
- Booking line
- One Offering charged on a Booking. It keeps its own copy of the name, price and tax rate.
- Customer
- The person or organization a Booking is for.
- Offering
- A Service or Product you charge for. Every amount on a Booking comes from Offerings.
- Charged per
- How an Offering’s price is applied: per Booking, per day, per person, per item or per hour.
- Billing step
- For Offerings charged per hour, the block of time billed once started: 1, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
- Tax rate
- The tax percentage of an Offering. Whether prices include tax is one setting for the whole Company.
- Order
- Items added to a Booking in progress, sent to Work stations when they need preparing.
- Work station
- A place where order items are prepared, such as the kitchen or the bar.
- Work queue
- The list of order items waiting to be prepared, picked up or served.
- Payment method
- A way your Customers pay, such as cash or card, set up by your company.
- Register receipt
- The number of the receipt your cash register issued for a payment.
- Role
- What an Employee may do: Owner, Manager, Finance, Staff or Station Staff.
- Job title
- A name for what someone does, such as Waiter or Receptionist. It does not change access.
- Location scope
- Managers, Finance and Staff work only at the Locations they are assigned to; the Owner works at all of them.
